Nativity in Stitches

This embroidery is part of a quilt pattern I got while up in Stratford. I thought it would make a cute, simple wall hanging and so I stitched it up for Isaac and Francie's Christmas gift. Caleb got to use his framing skills to make it look nice and finished in the end. It was a nice project to work on while relaxing and watching tv.

Humm?

What do these things have in common?

They each represent a quilt that will be getting finished in the next couple months. All the tops are done. Now I just need to get quilting and binding.

After the Storm

This quilt was my first with batiks. Caleb is not a big fan because of the batiks because "they look like tie-dye." But I think it looks kind of cool, especially from a distance like this picture. It is the Storm at Sea pattern and is about 65 x 75. The quilting follows the wavy pattern. The more I look at it the more different patterns I see in it, hearts, stars, circles, waves, etc. I have a bunch of leftover fabric from this so I will be doing at least one more batik quilt at some point.
