Ruffles in the Round

I saw this cute idea for a pillow online and had to try it out. It took 3 spools of ribbon. It is very ruffly and definatly girly. It didn't take to long to do once I got all that ribbon gathered. Caleb was a little worried when he saw it--it doesn't match anything we have and as I said it is girly. But I sent it off to someone who I hope enjoys it.

ABC its easy as 123

I made these a few weeks ago for my nephew's 3rd birthday. He is a smart little guy who loves his letters. I found this cool tutorial for using freezer paper to stencil the letters onto the fabric. Much easier than appliquing all the letters and doesn't peel off like the iron on stuff. I also filled them with a combination of small styrofoam balls, beads, and plastic pellets. This gave them an interestiting texture in addition to making them lighter and able to tolerate water (unlike rice or beans). Hope he likes them.

sneak peak

Here is a sneak peak of a current project. It involves piecing, applique, and of course the quilting. Over the next couple weeks I will be finishing this duo off and sending them away to await the arrival of their true recipents. (is that vague enough?) So there will be more photos to follow. This is my attempt at
trying out my artistic photo skills. Notice how the polka dots up close are in focus but the details in the back are fuzzy so it doesn't give the details away.
