Patchwork Pillow
In the process of getting Little Bird's room all finished, my mom and I made some pillows for the futon to bring in some pops of color. To go along with this I used the leftovers and a few scraps from the old stash to make a pillow. Then I hand stitched the bird to personalize it.

have iron, will travel
When I went to the quilt away last fall, I got this kit to make a carrying case/portable ironing pad. But in the midst of all the other projects, I never got around to it. So now that Little Bird is here and I just don't have several hours to get engrossed in a big quilting project, I have been trying to finish of some small ones that have been neglected. And there are a lot of them. So here is one off the list, a step in the right direction.

Diaper Design
With a friend having a baby soon, I was able to try my hand at sculpting diapers. I have seen different creations on Pintrest and have been curious. This was the perfect opportunity. I had some leftover newborn diapers from Little Bird to make the wreath. And used a pack of size ones to make the tires. I think it all turned out pretty well, but it will probably not be a skill with a encore performance.

Can't Say No
I have a hard time saying no when people ask me to do things, especially sewing/quilting related. So when a woman asked me if I would finish a quilt top she had started 10 years ago, I said yes. She is trying to get it done my the beginning of August. So I took the pieces and rows that she had already gotten done and had been in a bag. I got to work. It was a challenge and took a lot of fussing to make things work. Having never done a double wedding ring before (but having one planned for) made it good practice for when I do mine. I will probably only ever do the one because it is so challenging with the Y seams and curves, etc.
