Last week I shipped this off to my Grandma. I wanted to do a quilt with a bunch of different traditional quilt blocks in it but with a more modern look. I was inspired by Modify Tradition a blog with lots of traditional blocks used in different ways. It was kind of nice to only make one block of each kind because it didn't become repetitious. It ended up being about 60x70. She seems to like it, so it is a job well done.

Your opinion please
I have recently purchsed some fabric that I really liked. It has a different color pallete than I have used. I am thinking of using it with a bento box pattern, but I am torn between how to do it. These are the two options and the fabric colors and patterns are represented except for some of the solids. Let me know what you think.
Choice 1
This one really just alternates the dark and the light fabric. Including patterns and solids.
Choice 2
This one is patterned off a look I saw that I really liked, where every other fabric is the same light colored solid. It seems to give more contrast. The solid would probably be a very light gray.
